I have a small paperback copy of The Count of Monte Cristo on my desk (it's the Barnes edition and so on.) I'd love to read it, but I've heard some people say it's a full 1200 penguin. Nothing compares to pages. Click. . ME Are these Dumas fans exaggerating the difference between the two versions or is there any truth in their claims? I was careful to believe this because I know that today's writers are often paid in words, which makes the door, like Hugo's Les Miserables, very narrow.
When I was in high school, I read the short version and liked it. I came back later and read the whole version and was amazed at how much was left. Version II was, in my opinion, much better, deeper, which helped me to better find the book and get to know more about the different characters. It also helped me to know what was going on, as the brief version gives some confidence in what my aunt already knew.
However, avoid the latest movie starring Jim Kiwisel (somehow). Weaver wrote that the film did not bother to read any version of the book and was completely ruined.
The short version is basically a very long summary in a context where you pay someone to edit a book and make it look like 300 pages so that people can read it quickly anywhere, like an audio book. ۔ . When you have free time you always read (listen) to whole books but if you want to finish them quickly then read summaries.
