Definition of Descriptive study:

1. A statistical study to identify patterns or trends in a situation, but not the causal linkages among its different elements. Descriptive studies (such as a cross-sectional study) help in generating hypothesis on which further research may be based.

How to use Descriptive study in a sentence?

1. When you are looking at a descriptive study you need to be able to accurately break down what the data is telling you.
2. The descriptive study provided useful information to the team of research scientists who were presented with the new and relevant findings.
