I have heard that if you cut the wings, they will be easier to control.

When I got my RD 5 months ago, the wings were trimmed. I worked with him every day for a week after I got him under control and we had very little success. He is just a very nervous RD. I've been the most nervous so far.

If you don't want to and you feel uncomfortable, take the dog to the doctor in its cage. Veterinarians are accustomed to animals, so I'm sure doctors won't have a problem with frightened parrots.
