Sanyo claims that there is an uct that doubles the capacity of a CD from 700MB to 1.4GB.

While all the answers above are 100% correct and you never get 1GB of data on a CD, you can burn a CD. Note that this causes compatibility issues with some CD / DVD drives, but you can usually save up to 800MB on CD.

I see my question is old! Many people asked about it 5 years ago!

But here's the problem: I have a lot of CDs with data that my new computer can't read. They were created with ADAPTEC and now some are readable and some are not. There is a lot of data and there are not many troublesome CDs. I tried copying and burning a blank CD with ROXIO CD Burner, but it reads the disc and says insert a blank CD, which I do, but there is not enough space in the blank CD (700 MB). Is there a way to avoid it? Can data be moved to a storage drive (which I own) or to a blank DVD (which I tried unsuccessfully)? Any support is welcome.

No, a CD can only contain 700 MB.
To store 1GB, you need a blank DVD and a DVD burner.
Normally we get only 700MB motherboard size on sp, but on some sp I just see if the 820MB motherboard size CD sells about 820MB g or more.
This is the physical limit of media, no free or paid software will make much money on media which one cannot say. Try the DVD!
Yeah Al that sounds pretty crap to me, Looks like BT aint for me either.
No ... but you can compress the file to make it smaller or to use as a DVD. Some DVDs may contain up to 4.7 GB while others may exceed 7 GB. Blu-ray can store up to 50 GB.
