Definition of Letter-size paper:

1. Paper, typically in quarto size, of a type used for writing letters.

2. Non-ISO size typing and printing paper used almost exclusively in the US and some neighboring countries. Officially called A-size paper, it is defined by American National Standards Institute (ANSI) as 8½ inch wide and 11 inch tall. See also paper sizes.
