1. History: Numerous tripartite agreements have been made between nations including the Tripartite Agreement of 1940 between Germany, Italy and Japan which created the Axis powers.

2. Commerce: The Tripartite Agreement of 1936 between France, Great Britain and the United States attempted to stabilize currency values between France, who still used a gold standard, and Great Britain and the United States who had recently eliminated the gold standard.

3. Any agreement between three parties.
