I received a letter in the mail refinancing me with a $ 100 Visa Gift Card stating that you need to call this number to activate it. So I did this and talked to the loan officer for refinancing. I told him I would think about it and he said thank you card for his service. Then I received a card activation email which took 1 month to find. I know this sounds like a hoax. I wonder if anyone has ever experienced this before. I read that it was a file, but it was with a check.

it's the same. They do this in an attempt to provide you with a reference.

idk, but apparently you don't own or receive a gift card unless you refinance it and I never had one.
